About Me

My basic training and internship (1983-1986) were at the Kototama Institute in New Mexico. My teachers, Sensei M. and Sensei K. Nakazono, taught Japanese style acupuncture and moxibustion and Hara (abdominal) massage. Continuing at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine (1986-1988), I studied medical Qi Gong and Gua Sha as well as Chinese Herbology with David Frawley. I then augmented my knowledge of Chinese herbs with Ted Kapchuk (1990-1992). I have studied Kiiko Style Acupuncture with Kiiko Matsumoto and Monika Kobylecka, Master Tung with Susan Johnson, Balance Method with Richard Tan and completed training and certification in 5 Point Acu Detox (NADA). I also utilize Battlefield Acupuncture (BFA) for those dealing with chronic pain and PTSD.

I’ve run two Community Acupuncture Clinics and been involved with pro bono work for cancer survivors, the poor and displaced in shelters and those affected by the disease of addiction.

I’ve been certified by the NCCAOM since 1988, therefore have completed over 600 hours of continuing education across a myriad of subjects relating to Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

In the past, I’ve been licensed in New Mexico and Maine. Presently, I am licensed in Ohio and New York.
